I know of an actual dietician who is from Greece (she lives in US also) who has a cookbook, along with social media that is really true Mediterranean cooking. Her recipes are what I grew up with but never got from the relatives etc who made them. They're… read more

Going to a plant diet is supposed to really help ??? Be reading up on it . My diet for sure affects my RA . Found that tomatoes is now a no-no for me . So my wifey found a new way to make me pizza. She mixes refried beans with garlic sauce to replace the tomato sauce.. It is delicious !!!!

Yes Isin I totally get it. My Mom/family is from SoIT and she and my Grandma's made sure we got good food. But unfortunately here they were Americanizing the diet so they could fit in. I remember taking certain items for lunch at school only to be made fun of bc I wasn't eating Doritos and baloney.

Hi Debra,
I live in Turkey on the Mediterranean so I have been lucky to consume a Mediterranean diet all my life. But on the other hand I did my body bad by consuming gluten suger dairy and processed foods. Now I have cut it all out and stick to Mediterranean diet. Its what I grew up with. Even when we lived in Australia when I was a kid mum always cooked Mediterranean way.
