Elevated Sed Rate & C-Reactive

A myRAteam Member asked a question πŸ’

Is it normal for sed rates and C-Reactive Protein levels to be even higher 6 months later?
I take 20 mg Methotraxate once a week, folic acid and yet another anti inflammatory med...(so far none seems to be working).

I found being prescribed Humira or Enbrel, (I currently use Enbrel), and was advised by a specialist to add OTC, (Over the counter), Vitamin D 1000 a day and B12 and that has seemed to help, she also advised me to eat more banana's, blue berries and strawberries. I have been doing this routine for almost 16 months and so far so good. The Vitamin D has been great for the weak immune system from taking Methotrexate and Enbrel.

Yes vitamin c is used for iron absorption in non heme nutritious foods like spinach. The Mediterranean diet is recommended by the American College of Rheumatology. Red meat is still good for you because it is the most heme nutrient food for those of us that have chronic anemia. I do eat red meat I have no cancer and I just had a cardiac cath. With no atherosclerosis. I also went to a dietician from UT Southwestern university hospital for an evaluation.

Vitamin D And C will help to get your Iron regulated. Tina and others, I got a Nutra Bullet and I have at least 1 smoothie per day with spinach, berries, 1/2 banana, they are high in natural sugar that is why only a half. also a small cucumber and a celery stalk with a bit of ice and almond milk-really good!
I also take turmeric, morning and night. No processed foods, LOW sugar, lots of lemon/cucumber water. Oatmeal for mornings, real oats not instant. Grilled seafood using no oils.☺️

Just curious. How do you know the vitamin D is great for your immune system. Is it theory or are you having some kind of experience that makes you feel your immune system is improved?
