I had a neck fusion on 7-20. Recovery has gone very well. Neck pain is pretty much gone, just some residual inflammation and stiffness. Are you able to take Arthritis Tylenol? It has worked for me. I don't know if you are in Canada, but I am and it is legal to use THC oil which honestly has been a live changer especially at night. I wish you well

Experiencing a rheumatoid arthritis (RA) flare after surgery is not uncommon. Here are some key points from the knowledge base:

- Medication Interruption: Stopping RA medications before surgery can lead to flares. For example, one member reported a severe flare after stopping their RA medications before surgery.
- Post-Surgery Flares: Flares are common after surgery due to the interruption of medication and the stress of the procedure.
- Management: It's important to have a plan in place to manage flares, including being consistent with medications once they can be resumed.

Always discuss with your doctor the best way to manage your RA before and after surgery to minimize the risk of flares.

My rheumatologist said to come back when I am allowed to take the RA meds again and there was nothing else she could recommend. I have used cold packs at times but since it’s almost my entire body it’s hard to do. My neck surgeon said I basically have to tough it out. I’m trying.
