I am in a flare at the moment. But this is different than any thing before. It started in my knees then just as they started to ease my wrists and fingers started. Within 2 weeks every joint has been effected especially my fingers wrists knees ankles toes jaw shoulders and elbows. Each day its different. And I am tired. Has anyone any thing like this and how long did it last I am bad one month now 4 weeks and it's really affecting my mood.

Members shared their experiences with widespread flares affecting multiple joints simultaneously, validating that this pattern is common with rheumatoid arthritis and describing how inflammation can migrate unpredictably from one joint to another over days or weeks. Several members emphasized the exhausting nature of these flares and offered practical advice, including consulting with a rheumatologist about medication adjustments, trying ice or heat for relief, taking folic acid to address methotrexate side effects, and recognizing that finding the right medication often requires patience and trial and error. A recurring theme was the warrior-like resilience required to navigate these difficult periods, with members encouraging each other to advocate for better treatment options and to remember that some medications take several months to show results.

Yes. Effected neck, shoulders, elbows, fingers, wrists, knees, and ankles. I was pretty helpless. The inflammation was horrible and it lasted about a year severely and another 6 months that it gradually improved. Steroids didn't give me any lasting relief. It permanently damaged my joints but not in a lot of pain these days. I hope the improvement lasts. I am taking methotrexate.

Over many years with RA it has happened! I do the best with rest and ice, first one joint then another! Heat just seems to make me worst! Be aware of the jaw, mine is off enough to affect my bite! It’s hilarious to see me bite a sandwich! You got to laugh some or you’ll go crazy! Be sure your Dentist is aware of the fact you have RA!

Yes! All of the joints you mentioned. It gets so intense I can't really move without wanting to scream. I get so tired but sleeping is hard trying to arrange my body to try and get comfortable enough to drop off.

Thanks. I hope so. The Orencia nurse called today and said this med can take up to 3 to 6 months to work so gives me hope it will eventually help more than it is right now.

If you are on medication and your having that much of a flare up your medication is not working for you. A bad flare up can make you dreadfully tired as your poor body is fighting itself so hard.
