Wondering If Someone Can Possibly Give Advise On Sleeping Positions.

Wondering if someone can possibly give advise on sleeping positions. My RA symptoms are most severe in my shoulders, elbows, wrists and hands. Generally I'm a side sleeper but find myself being woken up constantly in the middle of the night with severe pain. Has anyone got tips on sleeping positions that would at least not aggravate the inflammation?

My PT says lay on your back with a pillow under your knees and both sides to support your shoulders. I also have a lot of shoulder pain and this helps.

I find it is all about what mattress, pillows, and the overall environment of my bedroom.

Ever since I tried a down pillow for my head, I pay for down pillows.

Sometimes I want to sleep on my back so I use a pillow designed to elevate my legs

Once or twice a week I may opt for a weighted blanket to keep me from moving very much

When I sleep on my side I need a pillow designed to be between my legs. For a while I even used a body pillow.

High thread count sheets are a must for me

Tempurpedic is my mattress now after I threw my back out once. I felt kind of weird when I went to the mattress store and kept laying down for a while on a bunch of mattresses but it helped.

- Left side preference: Many providers recommend sleeping on the left side as it improves blood flow to the heart, fetus, uterus, and kidneys, and keeps pressure off the liver.
- Use pillows: Place pillows under your belly, between your legs, or at the small of your back to relieve pressure and provide support.

I am now a back sleeper and I use a weighted blanket. It helps add pressure to the body and relaxes me enough to sleep.

Lay on side with arm on pillow and extra covers for arms and shoulders. Figured out the AC was causing the pain. Temp set at 78 degrees and it still causes pain unless i put extra covers on shoulders and arms
