I used both chiropractor that deals with elderly care for 2 months/acupuncture for 2 years. But I find acupuncture was safer and help more. Hope you are well!

Acupuncture and chiropractic care are both forms of alternative medicine, but they differ in their approaches and techniques:

### Acupuncture:
- Technique: Involves stimulating specific points on the body, often by inserting thin needles through the skin.
- Purpose: Aims to balance the body's natural energy flow (qi) and can help relieve pain, increase calmness, and improve digestion.
- Conditions Treated: Effective for pain relief, including back pain, headache pain, rheumatoid arthritis, and more.
- Risks: Generally mild, including transient lightheadedness, pain at the needling site, initial exacerbation of symptoms, and bleeding.
- Practitioner: Ideally performed by a licensed acupuncturist (LAc) with a master’s degree or higher level of training.
- Sessions: Typically performed once or twice a week, with at least six to ten sessions recommended before evaluating effectiveness.

### Chiropractic:
- Technique: Focuses on diagnosing and treating mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine, through manual adjustments and manipulations.
- Purpose: Aims to improve spinal alignment and overall physical function.
- Conditions Treated: Commonly used for back pain, neck pain, and headaches.
- Risks: Can include temporary discomfort, headaches, or fatigue after treatment.
- Practitioner: Performed by a licensed chiropractor who has completed specialized training in chiropractic care.
- Sessions: Frequency and duration of sessions can vary based on the individual's condition and response to treatment.

Both therapies are often used in pain management centers and can be part of a complementary approach to conventional medicine. Always consult with a healthcare provider to determine the best treatment option for your specific condition.

Each is a different modality. Chiropractors work on your joints and spine. Acupuncture works on the energy fields and lines of your body. Each service is wonderful in its own right.
