When I had pain I would use ice to numb the pain, afterwards I would use heat pack, there's many Arthritis rubs on the market, try some until you find the one that works for you. No pain, much since I had my knees replaced

Hi it depends on what is going on if you have fluid then you need to see a doctor if it's sore from over doing then i would do ice or hot pads, cream, pain relief of some sort. Good luck and i hope you have pain free days ahead.

For knee pain, several approaches can help alleviate discomfort and manage symptoms effectively:

- **Elevation and Support**: Keep your knee raised as much as possible to reduce swelling. Use an elastic bandage or sleeve for support.
- **Medication**: Ibuprofen (Motrin) or naproxen (Aleve) can be taken for pain and swelling. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is also effective for pain relief, though it doesn't reduce swelling. Always consult with your healthcare provider before starting any medication.
- **Rest and Ice**: Apply ice to your knee for 15 minutes at a time, especially during the first day of experiencing pain. This can help reduce swelling and pain.
- **Exercise and Stretching**: Engage in gentle stretching and strengthening exercises, focusing on the quadriceps and hamstrings. Activities like swimming or bicycling are less stressful on the knees.
- **Physical Therapy**: A physical therapist can teach exercises to strengthen the knee and offer treatments to relieve pain.

Remember, if knee pain persists or is severe, it's important to consult a healthcare provider for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.
