Knees And Hips Pain
Can you please share your experience if constant pain in the knees and hips are telltales that RA is progressing rather quickly. Thanks!
While anything is possible since we are all different, probably the hip replacement surgery has caused you to walk a little differently which is irritating your knees. Perhaps massaging those knees regularly will help them adjust to the new hip. You might want to talk to the surgeon or his/her staff.too.
I’m supposed to see an orthopedic surgeon soon and schedule an ultrasound and orthopedic examination . Before I go in for hip replacement (I dislocated my Right hip in 1990) I had planned to have it done the winter Mom suffered her stroke- “If you want to hear God laugh- tell him your plans “ - Light , Love & Hope from the Black Hills of Wyoming (The River Table top I stripped the mold off of today)
I have poly something rheumatoid arthritis so it travels from joint to joint to joint, shoulders, elbows, fingers, wrists, hips, knees, feet, ankles and my jaw also gets flares. It starts one place then clears up after about 10 days and then moves to another joint and so on and so on, but I do have periods of remission where I can hike, ski, swim, play golf. There is lots of medications and I keep trying them all. Moving to rinvoq next week. Keep positive and listen to your body, rest when you need to rest
Hi Maritza,
I think the pains in the hip and knee indicate progression of RA. For me, when I was diagnosed at 21, the pain started in my right thumb and it rapidly took over my body within a year. Back then, the meds today were not available, so I suffered with pain and many nights I cried myself to sleep. Now I find myself subconsciously rubbing my knees when I am sitting a while. People ask if I am in pain. Then I realize I am massaging my knee and my answer is yes.
I saw a post about Rheumatoid Arthritis in the Knee: Symptoms and Treatments. Search the title. On your question I have in the knees and hip but it not consent. I take hydrocloqine 200mg 1 at morning and 1 at night. It helps with flare ups.
