Multivitamins generally do not interfere with methotrexate treatment for rheumatoid arthritis. However, it's important to be cautious about the specific vitamins and their dosages. For instance:

- Folic Acid: Methotrexate can cause folate deficiency, so taking folic acid supplements is recommended to mitigate side effects like hair loss, mouth ulcers, and more serious issues such as decreased blood cell counts and elevated liver enzymes.
- Vitamin D: Deficiencies in Vitamin D are common in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and can be associated with methotrexate treatment.

Always consult your doctor before starting any new supplements to ensure they are safe and appropriate for your specific treatment plan.

No multivitamins help replace nutrients we don’t often receive from our diet. It has no effect on our treatments for RA. I have not heard anything about it in research. Rheumatologists know what affects the medications they are prescribing for you. Or they should.
