It can be frustrating when doctors don't take your pain seriously. According to the knowledge base:

- Pain is subjective: Many people tolerate pain and avoid doctors longer than they should.
- Gender disparities: Women's pain is often dismissed as psychological, while men may avoid showing up to the doctor.
- Invisible illnesses: Chronic pain conditions that aren't visible can create barriers to getting proper care.
- Advocacy: It's important to be your own best advocate and insist on being heard.

If you feel your pain isn't being taken seriously, consider seeking a second opinion or finding a healthcare provider who listens to your concerns.
