Multiple Autoimmune Diseases
Hi all!
I have multiple autoimmune diseases: RA, and recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease and an under active Thyroid. Should I only see a Autoimmune Disease doctor or continue to see 3 different doctors? Anyone else with multiple autoimmune diseases? What do you do?
I see my rheumy for RA AND SJOGRENS, I see neurologist for mirgraines, I see endocrinologist for diabetes and thyroid issues, gastroenterologist for my gastroparisis and colitis...I hardly ever see my family Dr!! So sad 😢 that I have so many Drs!
I feel to have the BEST care, you need to see a specialist for THAT condition!!
Rheumatologist would be the best doctor to see. I have hypothyroidism, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, and fibromyalgia and am now showing signs of sjogren's. I couldnt make it without my rheumy.
I see RA doctor and kidney doctor and gp, I have been signed off from cardiac doctor. I find that it is better to have each doctor that specialise in they own field and they all no about my conditions so they can check that any meds for one won't affect the other
I have 3 auto immune diseases. I go to ra dr and I go to encrologist. The other one I haven’t worried with as the meds I’m on help with it too. I also have a gastro dr as all the meds have caused issues there .
I was diagnosed when 17 with hypothyroidism and 55 for RA. Wonder if they had looked at my shin nodules and done the RA earlier? Who knows...
