I take Garlic, tumeric, b12, omega 3, multivitamins, papaya extract, iron, calcium, vit d, folinic acid ( after methotrexate) bromelain and probably1 or 2 more I can't think of! Am I crazy?? What works/doesn't work for you?

There are a few clinical trials regarding Turmeric for RA. It is worth the time to read and investigate. It has the same anti-inflammatory effectiveness as 800mg off Ibuprofen but with none of the liver damage. Be sure to take it with black pepper (a pinch) so the active ingredient Curcumin has more bioavailability. Also there is no liver damage with Turmeric as there is with Ibuprofen.

I take Tumeric and lots of vitamin and mineral supplements. The trouble is: I can't tell if it helps or not. The drugs seem to be more effective. But I don't know that for sure. On the RA rollercoaster, I can't always tell...Your guess is as good as mine...😊

I thought I was flaring around May, could not take NSAIDS due to small liver problem. When my regular blood work came back it showed my calcium was really low. Went to GP and she ran more blood work, my Vitamin D was also very low, as well as magnesium. She thinks my Simponi infusion may be influencing my vitamins. Turns out, my"flare" from May was a vitamin D deficency. Really low vitamin D and calcium can cause joint pain and swelling (in toes for me), fatigue and brain fog. I should have figured something else was up because I was not running a temp like I do when I flare. I also take a probiotic because I have read some promising studies about them and RA. This year was the first time in several years that I have made it through October without a flare. At my last rheumatologist appointment, he even said the word remission; I will keep my vitamins!

well you could be like me and take none and then maybe add them one at a time with a week between (kind of like an elimination diet)
