Has Anyone Been On A Biologic And Then Later Been Diagnosed With Cancer?
The context provided doesn't specifically mention instances of individuals who started on a biologic and were later diagnosed with cancer. However, it does note that in very rare cases, TNF-alpha inhibitors, a type of biologic, are linked to an increased risk of developing types of blood cancer such as leukemia or lymphoma Show Full Answer
Hello my WARIORS how is everyone doing today?
UPDATE: I am currently in remission after taking Rituximab with three treatments. My thinking process was that by taking Rituximab and having the chance with this med of going into remission, I was lowering my chances of getting cancer from this med. So far, that’s what’s happening. My doctor and I decided that I have come a very long way on this med and let’s see how long I can go without it. I’m retiring in a few months and I truly believe that the stress in our lives is what makes us sick. Slow down your stress level as much as you can. I realize it’s easier said than done.
Biologics compared to the other meds has the chance of putting you into remission which just happened to me. I have been on Rituximab for a year and a bit now and I was told last month that I was considered in remission. I have one more infusion I gave to take April 23, a half dose, and then I am done until whenever I feel it is starting up again. Cancer is a thing that can happen whether on biologics or not. The main thing is that on a biologic there’s always a chance you could go into remission. Methotrexate was highly toxic for me according to my liver because methotrexate is a form of chemotherapy and biologics are not.
I am on Orencia and they have been watching a nodule in my right lung as well as abnormal cervical cells, but no cancer diagnosis yet. I hope you are okay❤️🤗

Hi Teresa,
I read your post regarding flares, while taking your RA meds.
What I have found is that by keeping track of meds, foods, excercise I can almost always trace a flare back to something I ate or overdoing. I have RA and OA, my daughter has Fibromyalgia and PCOS. This holds true for both of us.
Checking in with our Rheumatologist, every 3 mos, with bloodwork be done ahead of our appointments bears this out as well. Sometimes, be cause of the wonderful brain fog, one of us will forget what we ate or what we did...it always helps to have our journals, but each other to remind us. Our last visit, my daughter had walked both Walmart, Costco and Sam's the day before and didn't understand why she woke up so sore, when her bloodwork was the best it has been in 5 years. Once I reminded her of her shopping day, she laughed and said, your right! From now on, no more than one store in a two day period of time.
I hope this helps you understand that there are many different reasons that we get flares.
Take care of you! Remember, naps are your best friends, we heal when we sleep.
Hi, I Have Sort Of A Dumb Question... Be Kind, I Have Done My Research However I'm Wondering If Someone Can Explain Biologics To Me 🤔
Does Biologic Meds Make You Feel Sick Like Chemo?
Can Anyone Tell Me If There Is An Added Benifit In Taking A Biologic In Addition To Methotrexate
