If you can't bend your fingers and have nodules and puffiness, it could be related to rheumatoid arthritis. Here are some steps you can take:

If you can't bend your fingers and have nodules and puffiness, it could be related to rheumatoid arthritis. Here are some steps you can take:

- Contact Your Provider: If the problem continues after 1 week of home treatment, or if you have severe pain, numbness, or tingling, it's important to see a healthcare provider.
- Physical Exam: Your provider will likely perform a physical exam, including looking at your hand and finger movement.
- X-ray: You may need an x-ray to determine the cause of the problem.
- Treatment: Treatment will depend on the cause. For rheumatoid arthritis, common treatments include DMARDs, NSAIDs, biologics, JAK inhibitors, and steroids.
- Splints: For mild deformities, ring splints may be recommended to help correct the deformity while allowing finger movement.

Always follow your provider's instructions for self-care and treatment.

I've had both done also. I'm now looking for a 3rd round. The May have to open the full tunnel. From the wrist to the elbow. My orthopaedic surgeon told me that with RA expect it. Then talking to my Rheumatologist, she said it a possibility, since I've done it before.
