Has anyone suffered from Bursitis? And if so what did you do to relieve pain at the knees

I have it in both shoulders and it comes and goes. I use either heat or ice on them. Holding it there with an Ace bandage. I try not to reach for things since that hurts more. Not easy to do when hanging up clothes.
Since you have it in your knees, try to stay off of stairs and use heat or ice. Whichever feels better, and use an Ace bandage to hold it in place so you can move around if you need to. Hope this helps 🙏.

I am currently “enjoying “ it in my hips. Took a cortisone shot in the right one at my rheumatologist visit in November. It’s not any better and now the left is giving me a fit. Going to discuss with my PC on Thursday. I have a hot tub and a good soak in it gives some temporary relief.

Happy New Year's! Yes, I have bursitis in multiple areas (knees, shoulders, etc.) Steroid shots have given me AVN so I cannot take/ inject steroids of any kind. Ice works best for me but we are all unique. Do be VERY CAREFUL w/ corticosteroids as they can cause irreparable damage systemically. God bless!💖

My last corticosteroid shot to the knee is still causing bruising/bleeding under the skin since last April. It was extremely painful, unlike a previous one. I find my worst bursitis is in my right hip and left shoulder when I overdo the exercise, so I am being more judicious. I find icing it immediately, then using heat helps me, as I cannot take Tylenol or NSAID's. I had good luck with shots in both, but I am trying to avoid getting them anymore as they can cause long-term damage to underlying tendons and cartage.
