Please be careful with diverticulitis, I ended up with ileoscopy surgery due to perforation of intestines. Don't want to scare you (although I'm sure I just did) but it happened to me and if I can keep it from happening to someone else then I'm going to put it out there. Diverticulitis is serious and should be thought of as such especially if you have a weakened immune system. Best of wishes for a quick recovery.

Yes, inflammation from rheumatoid arthritis (RA) can cause gastrointestinal (GI) issues, including abdominal pain and constipation. Here are some key points from the knowledge base:

- Inflammation: Chronic inflammation from RA can affect the digestive system, leading to symptoms like abdominal pain and constipation.
- Coexisting Conditions: Conditions like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and fibromyalgia, which often occur with RA, can also cause GI symptoms.
- Medication Side Effects: Medications used to treat RA, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), can lead to digestive complications.

If you experience these symptoms, it's important to discuss them with your rheumatologist to find an appropriate solution.
