Second visit the doctor came in, shook my hand, sat in a chair across the room, asked a few questions while typing on her computer. Never looked or felt of my joints. Oh hid when I first came back to Texas I had this RA doc at Baylor. She was awful. Kept upping my methotrexate which was bad and she has her notes wrong. A supervisor called me to make sure I was good. I should have reported her.
My Dr. is Saba Khan at Methodist Sugar Land. She is the only rheumy I have ever had so its hard to offer comparative information. However, I found her very attentive and very thorough. She asks lots of questions and answers all of my questions in detail. Her staff is also very responsive. I never have a long wait at my visits and she responds to any requests I may have in a timely manner.
Dr started me on 2 pills daily of sulfasalazine - that caused stomach upset. I cut back to 1/2 pill twice daily and have now built up to 6 pills daily (over 12 month time). Helped greatly at first, now, not so much. I totally understand your doctor concerns, going through same thing. Frustrating!
Cypress TX here ... I treat with Amber Khan in her Katy office. Houston Rheumatology Center is the groups name.
She does have another location near Clear Lake on the other side of Houston. She is amazing - I hope you find someone who works for you. 🙂
Laila Hassan. She practices out of SE Memorial. Have bee going to her for 13 years. Everyone who has gone that I have recommended just love her and can't wait until their next appointment.
