Amoxicillin-clav And Methotrexate
Diagnosed with chronic maxillary sinus infection. ENT prescribed 875 MG of amoxicillin-clav for 30 days to clear infection. I informed him I was taking 15MG of methotrexate once a week. I take my MTX over two days to lessen side effects: Sunday and Monday. On Thursday night last week I woke up at 4am from a strong urge to throw up. I have always been told that too. Stop Methotrexate immediately if you have any type of infection. Hope you are feeling better soon.
My Doctor said I had to discontinue methotrexate while taking amoxclav, and once dose is finished, continue methotrexate
You are not supposed to take any of your RA meds while you are on antibiotics
Thank you guys you are all correct that is what my rheumatologist said : stop MTX before taking any antibiotic. I wish I would have checked with him first instead of depending on my GP. Boy did I learn my lesson. No MTX for a month. Pray for me not to flare up.
Same here I've been told stop MTX or any biologic if antibiotics are needed.

What Are Everyone's Experience With Methotrexate? My RA Doc Just Prescribed It And I Start This Saturday. My Anxiety Is A Little Amped Up.
