How do one go on trips with RA? I use to enjoy taking my kids to amusement parks in the summer. Now I have grandchildren who wants their Nana to come along but all I can think about is the demand of waking on my sore feet.

I will not go to Magic Mt too many hills and I can't ride roller coaster rides but amusement parks like Disneyland provides wheel chairs that are a help! or zoos where you can walk at a slower pace. Even my last trip with my grand kids two years ago I was too fatigued to walk in the sand so you can rent wheel chairs that go in the sand. when at the beach.

Have you thought about renting a scooter so you can still go without all the walking.
My neice is probably going to want to go to all these places at some point. So thats what I will have to do. There is no way I could walk an amusement park.

About being prideful. I understand that. I definitely get looks when I use a scooter in a store. And I look a lot younger than my age. Plus with RA we don't look like anything is wrong with us. But reality is we know our bodies and what we can do and need help with.
RA is in both of my knees and ankle. So walking alot there is no way. Plus the fatigue.
My family doesn't invite me to go with them to places because of all the walking.
I have found some reasonable scooter that are a little over 500.00 and they come in fun colors.
They look like a moped with a basket on front. And they come apart so they are easy to transport. I haven't purchased one yet but I will when my neice wants to start going to these large amusement parks. When I was in good shape and not sick. I would be so tired from walking at these places. Once I fell on the.bed after getting back to the hotel. And passed out on the bed, clothes, shoes still on..I woke up the next morning still like that. And I wasn't sick and in my 20s.. I still remember being so exhausted that night. So you have to know your limits now. And do it with pride and fashion and hold your head up high.
Because we are alive and we can do it in our style. Lol

The only thing with a wheelchair is someone has to push you. And that's not always an option plus the park's are so big, I would hate someone to have to do this in the heat. After my knee surgery I went to the fair and I got a wheelchair to get around in. Well there were places I didn't care to go that my pusher decided to push me. In spite of me saying no. I like my freedom so I will definitely get a scooter so I can have the freedom. Plus you have a hard time talking to the people behind you. If you have a scooter you can stay beside them and feel apart of things.
That's my thoughts anyway on walking day where ever that may be. .
Good luck in whatever you do. .
