Methotrexate And Hair Loss
I just started taking methotrexate and I'm really concerned about my hair thinning or loosing it completely. My doctor put me on 2 folic acid pills the day after the injection but I don't know if that's enough? When can I expect to start seeing hair loss if I do get that side effect?!
Try taking 5,000 mcg or more of the B Vitamin BIOTIN. It helped me grow my Hair and Nails after Bad Chemo for Cancer!! I started Using it again and I am seeing a lot of improvement. Also try to use less harsh shampoos/ conditioners. If you have very Hard water in your Area, invest in a Filtered Shower Head, Sprite makes a good and easily priced product. I also lose my hair due to other Meds and Thyroid conditions. Old Pro at this Hair Loss Thing. Let me know how it goes!!!
I never lost hair and I am still on Methotrexate !
Starting Arava next week so again my hair loss could be wn issue

When I took methotrexate I used Nioxin shampoo which helped considerably. I obtained it at hair salons.
Not everyone gets hair loss. I haven't thank God! I have taken it for almost 9 months.

Does Methotrexate (injections) And Hydroxychloroquine Cause Hair Loss? I Do Take Folic Acid -- Maybe I Need More?
