Comfort Foods - Items
As we deal daily with the pain, fatigue and other bad side effects of RA, what do you use to help comfort you when it gets to be unbearable. Do you have a favorite comfort food, item that takes your mind off of the pain?
My comfort food would be chocolate. I know that is probably not what I should have. As for a item that helps. I had a heated mattress pad. Having it on a low heat all night helped greatly. Now that I live in Houston I don't use it.

I seriously think when it gets unbearable a hospital ER or Urgent care should be able to help..it's just not the way it works! My biggest problem is the rheumatologist sometimes doesn't know wether it's the RA or the Sjogren's Syndrome! A Doctor can write a standing order for the ER/urgent care to follow! I have went 4x in the last year...wasn't given any fluids or nothing. If you don't have a fever and blood work is ok, you go home feeling worse than when you came in!! So my next visit to Rheamy and my primary doc...we are having a talk about that!! Yes once they gave me Ibuprofen 800mgs...I have that at home! It was just not worth the visit! We dehydrate fast! I just don't get it! I will not go anymore unless a Doctor has a standing order for me! The make you feel worthless and stupid! Sorry about the vent...hugs to you and all our fellow RA friends!♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡
Dark chocolate is actually good for you! It is full of polyphenols which help fight free radicals. I eat 70% dark chocolate a couple of times as week. Any higher percentage is too strong for my taste.
