Need a good rheumatologist in the Grand Rapids area.. or Lansing, MI.. I'm seeking a 3rd opinion.. one dr. says I have it.. I'm sure that I do.. this last flare convinced me even more! Trouble is I also suffer from fibromyalgia and they can be similar. So the first rheumy was rude, uncommunicative.. I quit going there. Went to a rheumy in G.R. and he said I only have fibro. So... I really want to find one that knows the difference. Isn't it possible that I was in remission when he did his… read more

Welcome to the site...and I am so sorry your doctor treated you that way. I also had have fibro for nine years, but my specialist said there was something suspicious in blood work and appearance. It took two years until RA reared its ugly head enough for the specific diagnosis. Hopefully you can find a dr that listens to you....

Kat someone might respond about a good RA Doc in your area. I don't wish this on anyone especially with the fibro. I have had RA since I was about 5 years old and have it in every joint in my body. Good luck and I wish you the best.

I recently began seeing a rheumatologist in Battle Creek, MI, Dr. Ingrid Hall. I have previously been a patient of U of M, and a Kalamazoo rheumatologist.

I have been VERY impressed with Dr. Hall. She has been extremely thorough and actually called me to share some test results. She spends as much time as you need, and has answered many of my questions. I would very highly recommend her, but be advised that it may take a month or two to see her for your initial appointment. I wish you the best of luck in finding someone you trust and respect.
