Acthar Gel Side Effects

A myRAteam Member asked a question 💭
Traverse City, MI

Has anybody injecting Acthar gel had difficulties with heat intolerance and excessive sweating? Just wondering because I'm finding this the one thing that might keep me from continuing this medication.

I have had low grade fever and sweating for about 2 years. Starting MX, sulfasalazine, and plaquinel has reduced it. My Rhuematologist said the low grade fevers are a symptom of RA itself.

I would not take prednisone long term nor would I take anything off label for MS to replace prednisone. I would get a good treatment for RA period!

That is not a treatment I have heard of for RA. I just looked it up and it said it was for MS. I do have some additional sweating from methotrexate.
Sorry, couldn't help more.

Yeah, I take rituxin every 4 mos- it has scary side effects but it keeps me walking! I also do the Saltwater floats when things get crazy- not an RA drug or home remedy but it sure lets me have a few minutes of painlessness and calm. I also do Infared saunas which are amazing
