For pain management in your case, considering the need to avoid Celebrex, prednisone, and potential interactions with Xeljanz, you might explore acetaminophen (Tylenol) as it generally has minimal interactions. Oh this really helps, thank you. I love your integrated therapy approach. In the middle of my meltdown yesterday, I remembered that I know how to do vagus nerve breathing exercises and reiki and both really helped. Going to try find the ointments you mentioned, definitely need to upgrade my 'lets get comfy' kit. Thanks again, I appreciate you.
@Bashni
I have been on Xeljanz or XeljanzXR for 9 years.
I am allergic to a lot of meds and have to be very careful.
Most days I have very little pain. I find that if I get pain, I have over done somehow, i.e. to much excercise, to much housework, etc. I always have hesitation to take pain meds as I can only have very little, i.e. 1 Motrin or 1 Gabapentan. Our Rheumatologist prescribed a mild muscle relaxer vs pain meds as most of any pain is overworked muscles for me. My daughter has Fibromyalgia and therefore gets more nerve pain, but the muscle relaxer works for both of us.
I do mindful meditation and apply either of these OTC products before taking meds, Dragon's Numbing Gel, Vick's Children's VapoCream, Arnicare Gel or Lavender cream or Spearmint cream as all seem to calm the affected areas.
I hope this helps.
