Good morning! Yes, many people with rheumatoid arthritis experience ulnar drift in their hands. Here are some strategies that have helped:

- Medications: Over-the-counter or prescription medicines, such as gabapentin and pregabalin, and corticosteroid injections to reduce swelling and pressure.
- Splints: Supportive splints can provide compression and support, especially while performing tasks.
- Physical Therapy: Exercises to increase strength and improve range of motion, often after soaking hands in paraffin wax.
- TENS Therapy: Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation to decrease pain.

Always consult with your rheumatologist or healthcare provider to find the best treatment for you.

They make ulna splints like the explanation shows. An occupational therapist would work with that and your doctor Rheumatologist can as well order for occupational therapy. There are treatments that have healed the joints of the mcp to go back to normal.

I was advised to get a warm wax bath for hands and feet! The wax melts and you dip your hands /feet let it cool and peel off !
It’s very healing!

Brian,
I would think soaking your hands in Epsom Salts might help in reducing the inflammation. I know there are splits, but would suggest you try hand or occupational theraphy to find excercises to help as well as the best splint for you.
I hope this helps.
