I Was Just Diagnosed With Pulmonary Fibrosis From RA Any One Else Here With This, Actually Scared The Data Says 1 In 10
I was admitted June 24 with bilateral pneumonia and hypoxia. I was in hospital on oxygen for 8 days. CT scan chest looked massively abnormal so Pulmonologist was consulted. Seems that besides infection they saw interstitial lung disease. I also had severe Covid November 2020, and was on Methotraxate for two years, which can also cause ILD. So hard stop on Methotrexate per pulmonologist ( and I’m glad, I don’t think it helped much or at all). 4-6 months after discharge I will have high resolution CT scan and pulmonary function tests. Lungs need to completely heal from infection before they can have final diagnosis. Mine could be from severe Covid , Methotraxate or RA itself.or combination.
I was mortified when I was told that. Doc rolled in a computer into my room to show me images and it was disturbing to see your own lungs look so abnormal, but I needed to see it.
So soon I will have an answer. I asked Pulmonologist if he can keep me going as I have eleven year old son and he needs me. Pulmonologist said that he can, but to show up for appointments.
Yes I’m petrified. I try to stay positive, and plan to spend more time with my family and all the plans for travel to Europe , make them a reality.
I’m so sorry, I truly understand. This really sucks
Thank you, I worked in a Genetic lab until I retired. We primarily studied TGFB1,2, and 3
Never thought it would happen to me. I have always been really active.
