Proximal row carpectomy is a surgical procedure where the arthritic bones of the wrist joint are removed to diminish pain while preserving motion. However, not everyone is a candidate for this surgery. It depends on the location of the arthritis:

- Proximal Row Arthritis: If the arthritis is in the proximal row (closer to the arm), you may be a candidate.

Always consult with your surgeon to determine the best course of action for your specific condition.
