Good early morning Carol, well primary prescribed, prednisone, and ordered bloodwork. Prednisone. is working, but for some reason I’ve had a headache behind it, which never occurred before..Doctor wanted to check my thyroid, the result showed that my TSH BLD was low. So they’re trying to figure out if maybe that has something to do with the swelling because I don’t have a rash or any other symptomology. Hopefully I will be hearing from them before the week is out.. My grandmother had overactive thyroid. I’ll keep you updated.

Hey Carol, I just saw my primary yesterday and she couldn’t figure out what the swelling was coming from so she sent me for blood work. She made mention of thyroid problems and I know my grandmother had thyroid problems. I checked my blood work results and there is a suggestion of hyperthyroidism. I’m waiting for my rheumatologist to get back with me so I can get in to see him and I’ll let you know what I find out.

Darla, I'm glad the Prednisone is helping. It didn't help my daughter. She still has had issues but it spreads to her legs then her torso. The rash gets a little better then it comes back. The rheumatologist that received her referral cannot get her in until April. Poor thing. The think it might be hormones. Some kind of histamine reaction, so she is going to a gyno that she can't into until next month. They told her also to check with her dermatologist.
Have a good rest of your week! 🙏❤️🙂

Well Darla maybe they are getting closer to finding out. I told my daughter they need to check her thyroid. At 12:30 a.m. last night I had to take my daughter to the hospital. Her swelling, mostly in her legs and on her stomach, with the rash everywhere. It was pretty painful. They took a lot of blood work. It all came back ok. They wouldn't get the rheumatology tests back until today. He could see there was something going on so he put her on 60mg of Prednisone for 5 days. Thank goodness her surgery for her foot was cancelled because the insurance hadn't approved it. But she would have cancelled anyway. She's way to uncomfortable to have surgery .

Darla, that's definitely something to ask your doctor. I'm interested to see if someone with RA has this symptom. My daughter is trying to get into a rheumatologist. One of her symptoms is swelling in her arms, with a rash.
