I went on a liquid diet and slowly started to reintroduce food one at a time for weeks to see what was affecting my inflammation. I found the following to cause severe inflammation: Tomatoes, potatoes, bell pepper, nuts especially peanuts, anything processed, all meat other than chicken and alcohol.
It has been quite the journey but it have been able to reduce flares significantly.

It can be confusing to navigate dietary advice, especially with mixed information. Here are some key points from the knowledge base about anti-inflammatory foods that may help:

Anti-Inflammatory Foods:
- Whole Grains: Products made from grains that have all three parts (germ, bran, endosperm) intact are considered anti-inflammatory.
- Spices: Herbs and spices like turmeric (curcumin) can disrupt inflammatory pathways.
- Fruits and Vegetables: Aim to include a fruit or veggie at every meal for their phytonutrients and fiber.

Foods to Avoid:
- Refined Grains: These are linked with higher levels of inflammatory compounds.
- Sugar and Processed Foods: High-sugar diets and processed foods can increase inflammation.

General Advice:
- Home-Cooked Meals: Preparing meals at home with fresh ingredients can reduce exposure to additives and excess sugar.
- Mediterranean Diet: This diet, rich in plant-based foods, healthy fats, and limited red meat, is often recommended for its anti-inflammatory benefits.

Always consult with your doctor to tailor dietary changes to your specific needs.

The ESR or sed rate is a marker indicating inflammation in the body from RA or infection not food. I am a clinical lab technologist and have run many in over 35 years in the clinical lab.

It means your RA is more active than it was. There is nothing to eat or drink to make it go down.
