This sounds so painful. I’d stick with the stretching, and anything else your doctor recommends. I’ve found that the stretches I learned at PT at my osteoporosis doctor helps more that anything wise!

Veronica, sorry 😢 to hear of this painful discomfort expecially so soon after a hip operation can be a little discouraging. I too never heard of this until last fall had an epidural injection into the facet joint area and also the piriformis area not at the same time few months apart. Short lived relief. Again all ties into Sciatica, Stenosis, Spondylitis along with Rheumatoid is my thought on all this. Thank You for posting that. I’ve learned about muscle I’ve never knew I had 😂 lol. Hi Veronica i must add this is the first time that I am learning about Piriformis Syndrome. Rheumatism is so vast it is the underlying factor of so many ailments . The worst part is... We need medication but All the drugs on the market has side effects
Anyway I hope you find relief from pain do take care
