Does Anyone Take Lyrica To Help With Sleep & Pain

A myRAteam Member asked a question 💭
Clinton township NJ

My doctor prescribed Lyrica 4 months ago. After reading up on it i hesitated for 3 months but finally filled it. I’ve been on it for two weeks now. Lyrics does put me in a deep sleep but I feel dopey and lethargic worse than before.

Has Anyone else takin it with or without side effects?

Yes I was on it felt good but oh my about two months into it I hallucinated and Gabapentin made me tired and weak as if I could not hold on to objects.. like a cup. Pregabalin made me clumsy and drowsy. Also I think one of them I had chest pain or heaviness. The side effects out way the help for me😔. I hope you find some relief!

Paula, would you describe how to cut the dosage, please? If those are capsules, that would be difficult. Or does one need to take them every other night?

I have cut other med tablets in half before that have a cut line. And taken anti depressant every other day bc it was too strong and gave side effects.

Dosage can be tricky alright. I have tried gabapentin before and I got very spacey yet slept well. Woke up to use bathroom and tripped over a toy box and walked into a window. Another time a door frame. That kind of nerve relief was too dangerous for me. For ppl who live alone or have small children around... maybe there should be very low dosage pills or a starter pack to graduate up to for finding effectiveness and relief. While retaining control.

Sometimes you have to build up to medications but it’s through research that they find the adult dosages

Yes, its best to always discuss dosage changes or concerns with your doctor. Ask if you should or could lower first or even taper off. Never increase without doctor's approval.
