It does sound like costochondritis. The first time I had it was awful. I took Advil and it helped some and I was very careful to not lift anything heavy and just took it easy. Hope you feel better soon!

It sounds like you're experiencing quite a bit of discomfort, and it's understandable to be concerned about how it relates to rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Chest pain and discomfort in the ribs can indeed be associated with RA. Here are a few points that might shed some light on your situation:

- **Costochondritis**: This condition, which involves pain related to the insertion of the ribs into the cartilage either at the back or the sternum, can be a source of chest pain for people with RA. It's a type of musculoskeletal pain that includes inflammation of those internal joints.

- **Pericarditis**: Inflammation of the membrane surrounding the heart, known as pericarditis, is another potential complication of RA that can cause chest pain.

- **Lung Inflammation**: RA can also cause inflammation of the lungs, which might result in chest pain, cough, and shortness of breath.

It's great to hear that your tests have come back good, but if you're still experiencing pain, it's important to keep communicating with your healthcare provider about your symptoms. They can help determine if the pain is related to RA or if there's another cause that needs to be addressed. Managing RA and its complications can be complex, and it often requires a tailored approach based on your specific situation.
