I know it really is no fun and the pain varies from day to day and nobody understands what it’s like… unless they’ve suffered it.

Yes, it's possible for someone to have both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in their hands or other joints. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in the joints, while osteoarthritis is a degenerative condition that results from wear and tear on the joints. While RA can cause systemic symptoms and affect various parts of the body, osteoarthritis is limited to the joints. Having both conditions can complicate diagnosis and treatment, as they each require different approaches to manage symptoms effectively.

You could not be anymore right when you say nobody can understand unless they have RA, To go one step further a lot of people still don’t get it when you try to explain that RA and OA are completely different diseases.

Thank you Hillary Love Life. I enjoy playing piano too. Can't stretch to an octave sometimes. My thumb wrist joints are not only stiff but slow. I still keep trying when I have good days. Sometimes, if I shake Arther loose, can get in a couple hours. I've seen older ppl, with really gnarled hands, play smoothly and beautifully. It's just amazing.
