Medrol (Methylprednisolone) is primarily prescribed for managing pain and inflammation associated with rheumatoid arthritis and is not typically used to treat anxiety or PTSD. It's a corticosteroid that works by suppressing the immune system and inhibiting various inflammatory responses in the body. For conditions like anxiety or PTSD, medications such as hydroxyzine or treatments involving cannabis may be considered, as they target the nervous system differently. If you have concerns about your treatment choices, including stopping oxycodone, it's important to discuss these with your healthcare provider. They can offer guidance tailored to your health needs and help you evaluate the benefits and risks of your treatment options.

Lujan
Congratulations to you for the progress you have made so far.
I have been prescribe Medrol for flares, but do not take it unless absolutely necessary as it is in the steroid family.
I did some research, after reading your question and again this is not recommended for every day.
I hope this helps!
Continued success, you've got this!!

I’ve spent 45 of my years in healthcare I do not know everything but I have my books still. Lujan steroids never help as far as I know with anxiety or PTSD. They’re a steroid for the inflammation there is steroid and non steroid medications for inflammation.

If you have PTSD are you not seeing Psych? Lujan your questioning is appropriate for your doctors providing your care. There is no shame in taking narcotics to control pain. It is not supportive when people are afraid of narcotics because the pain is excruciating if left untreated or not on the right treatment to put into remission. Marijuana THC has recent research of the dangers to cardiac among other systems of the body. I’d be more than happy to pull up that research. Otherwise you use the other part of the plant CBD oil for osteoarthritis and minor aches and pains. For drug reactions I refer to a pharmacist for answers. I am on here to try to help however some things are better discussed with the MDs. 🤗💖
