Do You Find RA Affecting Different Parts Of The Body , Twitches And Aches , Not Related To Joints … And Bad Anxiety From It All.
Yes!
Yes, rheumatoid arthritis (RA) can indeed affect different parts of the body beyond the joints, including causing muscle twitches and spasms. These muscle issues can be due to muscle weakness, which is often a symptom of RA, and can be exacerbated by conditions such as higher-than-normal levels of calcium in the body Show Full Answer
You are so right about keeping a sense of humor. Thanks for the reminder. Early on like 20 years ago, I’d have days where I was so drained and weak I could do nothing, and I had whole body twitches that were really perplexing to me. I thought there was something neurological going on and there probably was, but it took another 20 years to find a rheumatologist who would a) take me on as a patient, b) take me seriously, and c) diagnose me with RA, even though I am seronegative. I no longer do the offending physical postal work that caused repetitive injuries and no longer work 50-60 hr weeks in the helping professions. Have had to radically change my lifestyle. Make peace with doing less and being more present. Oh, and get a total hip replacement as well. I do understand the anxiety. You are worth your own love and care. But it’s not easy.
Hi Lesley, definitely yes. It travels. RA is a life altering beast with ever changing challenges 🤪 it’s often frustrating. One day at a time and never lose your sense of humor. Stay strong #RAWarrior 🤗
