Anyone Use Diclofenac Gel For Their Joints? Does It Help? Which Is Better Pill Form Or Gel?
Volteran works really well. My RA Doctor want's me to take the malaria drug. After reading the script information and the possible side affects I decided to hold off. He ordered 5 vials of blood so I will wait for the results. I have been positive on the ana marker for at least three years before going in.
Diclofenac is available in a weak suspension of 1% OTC as Voltaren. There is a Rx version that is 3%. Too weak for me. My Rheum Doc prescribes a compound version of Diclofenac 5%/ Tetracaine 2% cream. Works very well on joints and on my metatarsals. Being compounded, its pricey - $95 for 120 grams. But it works well for me. I also cannot take NSAIDS.
Is this on prescription please?
I take volteran gel, and it works great. I use it for my hands and ankles. Sometimes my knees. I don't take NSAIDS pills anymore.
The malaria drug is Plaquenil or Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate (HCQS). I have been using it since 2016 with no adverse side effects. What I have learned: the info regarding cardiac arthymia is rare and applies to people with a particular EKG waveform. A cardiologist can screen you for it and advise you. Mine did .
The part about eye issues, per my Retinal Specialist, applies mainly to long term users after 10 years of use. I see my Retinal Specialist annually.
There are millions of users of Plaquenil - it is the only drug that will prolong the life of someone with Lupus.
It has now been confirmed that HQCS did stop COVID 19 or at least improved the chance of survival by 70+% when given early after infection. I’ll see if I can find reference link. It was.recently published article in a medical journal.
