I know I'm going to sound like a jerk but diet and exercise have NOT helped me. At all. If one more person tells me they "cured" their rheumatoid arthritis with diet, I'm going to scream and throat punch them! Lol I am a vegetarian, I'm at a healthy weight and I walk as much as possible. Guess what, it's no match for double sero positive rheumatoid arthritis. Due to life circumstances, I've been off my RA meds for 3 months. It's been extremely painful and difficult. Know what helps RA? Medication. Period.

I have been on 4 different biologics and none of them worked. I have not shown any signs of cancer ... maybe I wasn't on the meds long enough. I, too have stopped all medical.treatment as none of them worked. I have lost track of how many meds I have tried over the last 3yrs with no.success. However the only relief I get at this time is with Advil. and it has it's own side effects.

You can always ask your doctor for a urine DNA test . Cancer cells can show up before any tumors . I got bladder cancer in Feb 2020 and had been on Biologics for 15 years . The type of Cancer I got is not tied in with Biologics. To me it was worth the risk , because I had already had numerous hand surgery's and the Biologics gave me almost a normal life . Cancer is very rare from using Biologics but you should be aware of your body and to not ignore any symptoms. Early treatments just like RA can have great results . I will be rechecked Dec 15th and hopefully no new tumors ..

Your right Joanna, it's hard to know what's right and wrong. Shoot everything except water causes cancer, and I guess in some places water is pretty toxic. If we had a crystal ball maybe we would know what to do. All I know is I put off biologics for a long time and the hydroxycloriquine slowed the RA, but then it didn't. I knew I had to do something. I can tell you I feel like a guinea pig. I tried 6 biologics this last year. Right now I'm on a good combination. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I have been on Remicade and MTX injections since 2016. I was diagnosed with indolent NHL (Lymphoplasmacytic Lymphoma) in 2020 during the COVID outbreak. There have been a lot of rumors about MTX causing NHL so my Oncologist and Rheumatologist conferred and sent me to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa to an NHL specialist. She cleared me for the COVID vaccines. Regarding the MTX - NHL link, she said there have been anecdotal comments about that but no definitive studies have even been done to connect the two. I Am still on 1000 mg Remicade infusion every 4 weeks and Methotrexate 1.0 mL weekly by injection. The NHL remains dormant and I get checked for that every 6 months.
