How Can This Site Improve In Order For You To Access The Information On This Site Easier?
You may have noticed that we often have a blanket statement of ‘Greetings.’ Unfortunately - I flounder, as I’m sure may of us do here, trying to figure out creative ways to say - Welcome & how can I help you? To do this often times requires probing questions - What medications are you taking, what kind of symptoms are you having etc. What type of lifestyle modifications have you made in your life to try and get better? I hate to nag you but in order to understand where you’re coming from and… read more
I find the resources area, as it's setup now, to be a annoying and not useful for me - so I don't use it...at all. How about an alphabetized index list, with keywords in the headers or subheaders, where you could scroll to different topics to find what you're looking for. Yes, there is a search function but sometimes I don't know what exactly to search for or my brain fog prevents me from being able to figure out the term(s) to search. It being in list form, having everything right in front of me, gives me a higher chance to see and recognize what I'm looking for. Then I could go "Aha! Take that Brain Fog!"
What you're suggesting is basically an RA ChatGPT - it could be beneficial. After beta testing several GPTs though (I worked in IT for some time), they aren't quite there yet and could cause confusion by giving erroneous information. Give them a little more time and then it would be a fantastic thing to have.
How about a symptom checker? You check off what you have from the list and it gives you information based on that? It could provide links to verifiable medical sites. I don't recall seeing anything like that on here...but I could have just overlooked it.
Nancy you rock and so do your ideas.
I just love the info & suggestions I get from my friends here! Dsn't matter who or what!! I love you all!!!❤I'm enjoying some Jimmy Buffett music this weekend;)🥺So sorry we lost him. Music is my saving grace...🎶
@A myRAteam Member. I love your idea of a symptom checker and would love to see that on here.
Hi Nancy
Great questions.
I'm one of those fairweather users of the site.
Honestly it's the first time in my 49 years I've joined any sort of support group so not sure what the boundaries are.
I was diagnosed in 2019 with RA by accident actually. I thought the hot painful hands was due to menopause ( started at 38)
Anyhow since my diagnosis my marriage broke up (unrelated) but it means I'm a single mum now and trying to run my own business. The tiredness is so bad sometimes I fall asleep standing up.
All of this means I don't really look at the support group until I have a specific question and don't feel qualified enough to answer a lot of people's questions on here. You guys seem so informed. X
Also I feel like I'm complaining when I ask questions sometimes. Sorry for the rambling ❤️
I find the articles very helpful.
