I get random muscle pain in my forearms. I attribute it to over working my arms. Like if I mop the floor or do too much housework at once. It does subside but it's painful. Actually before I was diagnosed with RA in 2006, and went on Methotrexate the muscle pain was a first symptom.

I asked about muscular and subdermal pain too and was told I have fibromyalgia. You might want to ask whether that might be causing your symptoms.

You are not alone. I can’t tell you if it’s RA related or symptoms from some other autoimmune disease, but what you are going through and feeling is validated. For me that pain sometimes the most debilitating. My RA doc did give me an injection around my shoulder blade and it helped for a good year. Physical therapy aggravated it more. It would send me into a massive flare. So we had to stop PT for that. When I do have a RA flare it usually hits around my shoulders, shoulder blades and neck area and the muscles in that area go in traction. Heat, massages, muscle relaxer and putting a Poole noodle behind my neck while I lay on the floor with my feet up helps take the edge off a bit until i have my Remicade infusion. Hope you find relief
