What are some things you wish you would have known before knee replacement surgery? Any ideas how to manage at home better?

Because the knee replacement surgery is what 'triggered' my RA, (Never had been diagnosed with RA previously), I wasn't prepared for the VERY long recovery.
I'm having the other knee replaced in July, and this time, I will:
Have pre prepared dinners for my husband and Grandchild (lives with us).
Arrange to have my house clean before surgery
Pads for 'leakage'...there were times that I just couldn't get there in time.
Accept offered help, (food, rides to PT, tidying up, etc.). It's hard for me to accept help, but I would do the same for them!...and they know it!
I won't be so shy to take the pain med through the IV this time..I was trying to be a hero, I guess..but I paid for it!
Arrange to have someone take care of my little Morkie...out of my house!
It was a tough time for me, and the pain was bad, (because I was getting worse instead of better..and parts of my body besides my new knee were hurting), so the surgeon and I have a better pain management plan in place this time.
I know there is more, but I have help, so I'm praying for a smooth experience this time..but I'm still a bit scared.
Good luck with YOUR surgery!

I had a total left knee replacement in 2021. The best thing I ever did. Keep all throw rugs out of your way. You will be using a walker and then a cane so you don’t want to trip. Get railing for your shower you’ll need it to help you get in and out of the shower. Keep all wires away from floors. Move all furniture so you can use walker/cane and so you won’t bump into them. I hope this helps. Good luck keep in touch

A bath chair is good too so you don't have to stand for long.
I hope your surgery goes well. Wishing you a better tomorrow ☮️
