If A VACCINE Became Available To Make The RA Go Dormant, Would You Try It?

A myRAteam Member asked a question 💭

Australia has been at the forefront of the development of a ‘VACCINE” for RA for the past two decades
What if we could stop the disease process upstream, before it even started causing pain and discomfort for people.
In the resources listed in the long explanation as to what they are working on to make this possible. Would you be the first in line with your family members or would you wait for a few years to see what happens to the first few that took it?

I think I would give it a go if I were feeling really bad but I have been feeling better than when I first got diagnosed. My doctor recently upped my Methotrexate, and now I have no pain. And I have been in pain for 2 years.

That really depends on how morally and ethically the vaccine is made, who's behind the vaccine, etc...

Saw the RA doctor today. He said Sweden is in the forefront since they take blood samples for EVERY newborn. Interesting, to say the least. Still NO mRNAs after my husband's RA got activated by mRNA Covid vaccines. NOW, They are leaning toward making ALL vaccines mRNA. I will NEVER get another mRNA and neither will hubby nor our daughter!

Even though I would love to say yes right off the bat, I think it would depend on the answers to many questions i have after reading the article. I think a lot would depend on how the vaccine actually worked, how well it would work and to what degree, and how long would it work. What stage of RA would you have to be in for the vaccine to work or help. Would it work if you've had RA for decades and already have significant damage and side effects or would it only work if you were at the beginning of the RA journey before damage has been done? What symptoms of RA would be lessened or helped? Would it help everyone or would it depend on how the vaccine interacted with your body? Would it only help seropositive RA or would it also help seronegative RA? Would it be a one time vaccine as smallpox and polio or would it be like the Covid vaccine and have to be injected in a continuing basis? So many things to consider.
