Doc wants me to start this medication but I’m a bit concerned about the “fatal brain infection” listed under possible side effects… I have been on humira, inflectra, xeljanz, sulfasalizine all of which stopped working. Currently on methotrexate and plaquinel but doc wants to add another medication in as I’m still getting inflammation and flares. Thoughts on this medication if you’ve tried it?
It's awful when insurance companies dictate what we need or can have bc of costs. You can also try the maker of the drug. You may be able to get copay assistance. I did with Enbrel when I had commercial insurance for my prescriptions. Now, I'm with a Medicare subsidized insurance, so no more help with copays! Even though the price is the same. Smh
No the doc didn’t really say - just trying to find a medication that isn’t $1000 cause I have a high deductible plan and figured this one might work cause I’ve tried so many others. She tried to get me on Orencia but I was told it would cost $1475 for one dose with insurance (which is one week) so that was out of the question so then she suggested this medication which is cheaper and more covered by my insurance.
