I find the information regarding diets and food planning to be overwhelming.

Stacy,

I changed my diet slowly. It's easier this way and not so overwhelming. I cut out beef and pork 15 years ago. I did not have RA at that time, it was a matter of digestive issues. There's an article on this website about the Mediterranean diet. When you have RA, I have found it's a matter of trying to notice when you feel a flare up after you've eaten certain foods. For myself, I love fried chicken, Chinese food, both of these foods cause me pain the following day. I've cut the food items I've noticed the cause inflammation out of my diet. This is a slow process of elimination.

Mediterranean diet seems the best. Have found cutting sugar out is very helpful. Pass on as many processed foods as possible. Eat more veggies and fruit. Watch to see if you have any food intolerances or trigger foods. Keeping a daily food diary helps to be aware.
