Hi Humira And Methotrexate Don't Seem To Be Helping Me Has Anyone Had The Same Problem And What Did You Try Next
Hi, Humira did not help me either. This is my 8th year with rheumatoid disease. I have been on Simponi Aria infusions for four of those years, which absolutely changed my life. I have one subcutaneous shot of methotrexate per week, lots of Vit. D and folic acid and the infusions every 8 weeks. generally the week or two just before the infusion, I do not feel very good, but as time goes on, I am getting much, much better. finding a GOOD rheumatologist is vitally important; I have one through Johns Hopkins and I'm grateful to be within driving distance of Baltimore. It took YEARS before I came to a good place with just the right meds. I hope this helps, cindi

Besides the meds I'm on, I also do 2 other things. I get a deep tissue massage one a month and Battlefield acupuncture every week. If you've never heard about this. Look it up. When I get it, I'm pretty much pain free for about 3 days.
Thank you for adding me to your groups. It’s such a help learning about all your medications and side effects and which ones are helping RA symptoms. I realise it’s most important to find a good Rheumatologist, whom I can trust and who has a treatment plan that will help.
All stay well and sending regards from South Africa

I was originally put on methotrexate. I took it once a week. It did partially reduce the swelling in my joints, especially my right elbow.
After about a year and a half there was still too much pain and too much inflammation. Remicade infusions were started about 6 months ago. The infusions are scheduled every 6 weeks and they are incredible. I feel very blessed.
