Covering The Cost Of Remicade When On Medicare?
I work full time now with insurance benefits but would like to retire. The hold up is insurance. Of course when I do retire I will be on Medicare/Supplemental, is anyone on Remicade while Medicare covered? Trying to get information on what supplement company will cover Remicade.
Thank you in advance.
I used an independent insurance advisor. She asks every year for updates and shops policies from many companies, not just one that employs her. I have A, B, D, and supplemental Plan G. I do not take Remicade, but I do take an infusion. It must be done at a hospital or infusion center, but coverage is very good. The Plan G covers everything but a small Medicare deductible at the beginning of every year. I've used this arrangement for about 5 years and never made any changes in my policy.
Hi and good morning Becky,
I worked for the city of Hartford CT for 25 yrs, i took the entire health care policy with me, today Medicare covers 1st.
But i have Part A & B, but my old city Ins still covers,, all my meds,, the first 90%, then i have co-pay help
through the state of NY, to help with co-pay. my old city ins is still free to me and the Drug plans are also
still no cost to me, this is for at home self injections [ Humira and EnBrel ].
DR. office visits to get infused,,[Remicade] ,, Medicare will pay 100%.
Hope you have a nice day, be well. joe
Thank you Joseph for your reply. What medication supplement policy did you have to cover the Remicade itself?
Medicare Does pay for Remicade IV as long as its done in the Dr. office by a RN.
Medicare does Not pay for at home injections like Humira which i am on or like enBrel.
i was taking Remicade for years, my system built up anti-bodies against it - so it stopped working
on me, sadly. Be well
I'm Told Medicare Doesn't Cover Enbrel. Has Anyone Been Able To Get It Covered Or At Least At A Reduced Cost? Thank You!
DOES MEDCARE OR MEDACADE TAKE CARE OF THE COST IM SURE ITS NOT CHEEP THANKS DEB
