Recurrent UTIs & Exhaustion

A myRAteam Member asked a question 💭

Seems as if I get UTIs almost every two weeks… Go on meds gone for a couple days and then back. Besides that I have a low-grade fever‘s almost every afternoon and early evening. Also absolutely exhausted but sometimes I feel as if I can’t place one foot in front of the other. I’m just wondering if anyone else has this sort of craziness going on. Thank you

Ok, riddle me this. Recurring UTI's or interstitial cystitis? for a few years before I was diagnosed with RA. I experienced what I thought were UTI's for like 2 years. Because of the similar symptoms. They would constantly prescribe me antibiotics for them. This is what I believe started the "leaky gut syndrome" and what eventually would lead to RA. Anyway turns out they weren't UTI's. It was interstitial cystitis which is chronic inflammation of the bladder. Urine tests will show elevated while blood cells which is why it appears as though it's an infection but really is just a sign of inflammation. Not saying this is your case but might be. Talk to your doctor about the possibility. 15 years later I still deal with the interstitial cystitis but not nearly as bad. I avoid acidic drink-cranberry juice, orange juice etc. When I thought it was UTI's I was gobbling down cranberry juice like crazy!!! not knowing it was making the inflammation worse and triggering IC flare ups! anyway that's my story!

I have to get up do something sit down get up do something sit down I'm exhausted arthritis makes you so tired I know it does my legs are going to be okay but I'm worried about my shoulder a little bit but I'm going to do it because it took the arthritis out of my knee in me I'll see you porosis and them left me so much better I can walk on it I couldn't walk on either one of my legs bad handicapped and you know how bad arthritis hurts. And it seems weird to get up and down but you're so damn antsy and hurts so bad you got to move around or do something to stop the damn pain. Getting in remission Thank God 🙏 in Jesus name 👣 Amen

I had a kinda low grade fever and cold like symptoms while taking suphazaline, was really exhausted and couldn't function, not to mention other nasty symptoms. Was only on it 3 weeks so stopped. Now on methotrexate and I find if I don't drink enough water my bladder feels inflamed and I get uti symptoms.

Yes mam. I hate uti as with antibiotics I have to stop my meds...
I found that I must get out of bed on my worst or best days and get bath/shower. I had to have help on bad days...even with wiping after potty as my hands could not hold paper or wipe...sorry but it is what it is for me....when I forced myself to take a soaking bath with Epsom salt daily..even now...my utilities has not returned. Without naturally fighting system and biological to reduce as well...bacteria and germs on skin just grows. I hope you get relief as we get older this uti can also affect cognitive functions.
