RA And Dental Implants, Can Those Things Live Together? How Dangerous Is To Use An Implant Instead A Missing Tooth For The Patient With RA?

I am taking Meth and some biological treatment. How dangerous is to use an implant instead a missing tooth for the patient with RA? Thank you in advance.

I have my entire top layer with implants; albeit before I knew that I had R.A. Pulling all those teeth out was murderous. Worse pain in my entire life. Get implants ONLY if you need to do it...in my opinion. Norma5

When I had a front tooth removed and an implant made- I had to postpone my Prolia shot and was in-between therapies. A bit nervous bc i had been on xeljanz which caused me to get numerous infections for a year after stopping it. The surgeon had me on an antibiotic for a bit starting at surgery date. It was simple. He packed the site with a type of bone powder he said, like quickcrete I guess. No issues and healed nicely. Then you wear a plastic guard and wait for the fake tooth to be made. It looks great. Later I had another large molar extraction. No issues. I'm on a beta blocker with atorvastatin and I bleed well. But none of that
ever bothers me. I heard from several older friends and they said 'you'll do fine- its all super easy nowdays'. They were right. Nothing like the 70s.

Hi, Jayne, ALL my teeth, on my upper palate are implants. I do not think having RA is a problem, but I think you should ask your rheumatologist. Everyone is different especially befause, in your case, you take Meth. Good luck, Norma5

Just found a terrific dentist to do mini implants. They are guaranteed, if they fail, he will keep redoing for free. Half the cost. Not as deep but I think they have 2 smaller posts. It is almost more of an intricate art rather than traditional drilling. You have to be experienced, and gifted to do this. Found a great dentist!! I have 3 traditional implants. 1 was done a few years back, with RA. Had no problems…

Interesting that you had pain after extraction. Mine didn't hurt at all. Well, a little tender. Didn't need pain reliever though. Everyone is different though.
G uess it was a bigger relief to get rid of the bad ones.
