Members shared their experiences with TENS devices after learning that the Quell brand will require a prescription by the end of September, with many finding significant relief for knee, back, leg, and muscle pain, though results varied and some noted it provided only temporary relief. Several members mentioned practical details like purchasing before the prescription requirement takes effect, trying different brands available on Amazon, and using regular versus sport electrode strips depending on activity level, with one member warning about skin irritation from certain gels. A recurring theme was gratitude for the heads-up about the prescription change and curiosity about whether insurance or Medicare might cover the cost, along with encouragement to try TENS therapy as part of a broader pain management approach that includes stretching, relaxation, and medications.

If you already have the device there’s no impact. You will still be able to purchase the strips from their website

I used to use a tens device. I did get some relief. But after my heart attack, I was told I could no longer use it. My husband uses it now 😉

I also had cortisone injections and gelsyn injections. It was bone on bone, no cartilage . So painful. The cortisone shots helped, the gelsyn was useless.
