HI Grillo. Well, I haven't tried spirulina yet but the side effects from the different meds most frequently is severe stomach pain. One of the medications caused me to have immediate projective vomiting. Another combination of meds caused me to have frequent infections. I currently take hydroxychloroquine but when the demand shot up for it, my pharmacy switched to a different manufacturer and it started hurting my stomach too. I am getting ready to start Xeljanz but I am scared that it is going irritate my stomach also. The spirulina is supposed to boost your immune system but there was a warning for people with compromised immune systems, so I wasn't sure if taking it would be counteractive to the meds.

I am curious as to what kind of side effects you had?? Also I use to work at a health food store and Spirolina was popular and suppose to be like a whole food and give you lot of energy...but I had not taken it for a long time.

I am so sorry to hear that. About 5 months ago, during the middle of the night, I feel over my dog and tore my rotator cuff and labrum in my shoulder and had to have surgery. I'm still in pt and still cannot lift my arm above my head. I know that most people would blame the dog but I blame RA because I was very stiff when I got out of bed and just couldn't get my feet under me fast enough. I hope you can find some relief soon. This disease causes so much pain and damage to our bodies.

Wow! If you don't mind my asking, how much do you take of them daily? How bad was your RA before you started taking them?
