I Am Struggling.

I have had mouth sores on methotrexate. Now I am on sulfasalazine and I have had swollen glands and a rash. My doctor hasn’t been helpful. Now I am taking prednisone and have stopped that medication because another doctor told me to that. Any ideas?

Now I am experiencing mouth pain and sore tongue. Could this be from the ra itself? Seems strange but all this has started since I was diagnosed. Very scary. I have an appointment with an oral surgeon but that isn’t for awhile. I feel like I am going crazy.

Thanks. I have broken out in hives. I went to the ER and the doc told me to stop taking the sulfasalazine. Very frustrating.

Hi Lisa , when my doc had me try methotrexate , he also had me take folic acid , because the methotrexate causes sores in your mouth . I hope you feel better. Hugs to you!

Are you allergic to ibuprofen? I had to stop salfasalazine because it gave me a rash. If you have reactions to ibuprofen you should call the doctor because you may need to stop salfasalazine.
